A WORD FROM WHITE HORSE OWNERS BOB HINKLE AND KIM HUGHES:
White Horse Black Mountain opened it's doors last Nov 1, 2008, with a sold out concert by Larry Keel and Natural Bridge. In the months to follow, White Horse brought an amazing mix of world
class performers to Black Mountain while building a true sense of community among it's faithful attendees. National and international touring acts which played at White Horse this year included: Free Planet Radio and Mariam Matossian, Akira Satake, BeauSoleil, Cyril Neville, Malcom Holcombe, The Lee Boys, Al Petteway & Amy White, David Holt, Mac Arnold, Bob Margolin, and many more.
But we've also been amazed at the musical talent right here in Western North Carolina and we take great pride in bringing our local and regional talent to the White Horse stage including acts like Stephanies Id, Chuck Brodsky, Every Mothers Dream, Jimmy Landry, Jamie Laval, WSNB Blues, Chuck Beattie Blues, Shantavaani, Kellin Watson, Zach Blew, Menage, The Swayback Sisters....and far too many others to list.
White Horse has also donated use of it's building for numerous benefit events including the Rwandan Mizero Children and LEAF International, Full Moon Farms, Southern Fried Blues Society, a medical fundraiser for Chris Kew featuring Acoustic Syndicate, the local Montessori School, Save Our Slopes, and other organizations.
We've provided a venue for civic meetings, inaugural celebrations, for wedding receptions, ...and even a full wedding.
We are honored that the Mountain Xpress Readers Poll recently named White Horse Black Mountain as the Favorite Music Venue in Black Mountain !!!!!
It's been a truly amazing year and we're thankful to each of you who have made this year so special. We look forward to seeing you on November 7th as we celebrate by raising money for WNCW 88.7.
